Hottest California Summer Ever

2017 is now the hottest summer ever recorded according to new data from the Western Regional Climate Center, and all-time high temperatures were recorded in much of the Bay Area on Friday, September 1.

The state’s average temperature for June, July, and August of this year hit 73.6 degrees Fahrenheit. The average recorded from 1900 to 2012 was 70.4 degrees. Summers in California have been markedly hotter since the early 2000s.
