In an ongoing downward cycle of bus service cuts and ridership losses, the San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) will eliminate six bus routes and adjust six others on January 21 to partially compensate for the loss, “merging 12 of its routes into six to simplify service.” The cuts come following a gradual decline in ridership after the previous round of service cuts in 2013.
The SamTrans bus service cuts begin on Sunday, January 21, 2018. The major changes:
Routes 130 and 131 will merge and become a new Route 130.
Routes 133 and 141 will merge and become a new Route 141.
